Rivet Wars: Eastern Front Becomes One of the Highest Funded Board Games in Kickstarter’s History

Ted Terranova’s RTS inspired miniatures game, Rivet Wars: Eastern Front, a WWI era, real-time strategy board game from publisher CoolMiniorNot (CMON) has earned a spot in the top ten highest funded board games in Kickstarter’s history.

Shattering its $25,000 goal in just two hours, Rivet Wars’ backers have pledged over $285,000 with eleven days remaining in the campaign. This is also the latest success for CMON on Kickstarter having already had success with Zombicide, Sedition Wars, Relic Knights, and Guilds of Cadwallon.

Wee Gamers interview ... Mick Leach of Eastern Front Miniatures

The great thing about this job, is its not a job, its a pleasure. And no more so than when you talk to someone in the industry for whom the $ hasn't replaced the passion and Sales targets aren't their driving force.

Mick Leach is just such a man.  He is the one at the helm of Eastern Front Studios, and has a Kickstarter for their Midgard line of miniatures.

After years of planning and tinkering their dreams are now close to being realised.  So join us now on our own adventure as we explore the mind of Mr Leach and find out what lurks below the surface.....

Wee Gamers Podcast ... An interview with Stuart Boon

Wee Andy gives us a real treat with the latest Wee Gamers Podcast.

He has a great interview with none other than Stuart Boon, award winning author of the Shadows over Scotland sourcebook, part of Cubicle 7's Cthulhu Britannica line and one of the authors of  'Tales of Promethea', a collection of short fiction set in the fictional country of Promethea, from the award-winning, critically acclaimed RPG Dark Harvest: The Legacy of Frankenstein.

Sad passing of Lynn Willis from Chaosium

Wee Gamers, keen Call of Cthulhu roleplay gamers, are deeply sad to hear of the passing of Lynn Willis, a very important member of the Chaosium team.

While he had been associated with Games Designers Workshop and West End Games, it is with Chaosium that he became most associated.

He had been suffering from Parkinson's for some time but this became public knowledge in 2008.  He passed away on 18 January 2013 whilst in hospital for treatment.

Wee Gamers interview ... Caffeinated Chaos Studios

We came across an interesting kickstarter recently called Endgame: Day Zero, a post apocalyptic rpg (think we were still on a buzz from The Morrow Project).  Endgame: Day Zero is a role playing adventure set in a post apocalyptic world that is a sci-reality/edutainment approach to gaming.

We coaxed Sloane Hucker, one of the two men behind this, out of his zombie proof Caffeinated Chaos Studios bunker to have a chat with us.

Wee Gamers Interview ... Gregor Hutton

We caught up with this Scottish bloke at GaelCon and found him to be a lovely guy.

He was in fact none other than Gregor Hutton, serial games maker and Con attendee extraordinaire.

We cornered him so he could not escape and then subjected him to the torture of the 13 questions.

At least he didn't run away.

Enjoy. Mwahahahahaha

Wee Gamers Podcast ... An interview with Chris Garland (pt2)

Now you have landed on the second podcast from Wee Gamers and it is, strangely enough, the second part of the interview with Chris Garland of TimeLine Ltd and the man behind The Morrow Project

Wee Gamers Podcast ... An interview with Chris Garland (pt1)

Wee Gamers have been messing around a bit to see if the technology would work to do a few podcasts.  And so you now find yourself on the page that contains the inaugural Wee Gamers podcast.

Now this is no ordinary 'Hello everyone' first podcast. Nope. No sirree!

Wee Andy gets to try out the connections by interviewing Chris Garland. Who is an American. In America.  Yup.  The first podcast is an international interview with the man who is bringing back The Morrow Project.

Wee Gamers back the Morrow Project

Well, kind of.  Wee Andy and Wee Ivor, have both decided to back The Morrow Project (at this point only 49 hours left to pledge).  A game that has many good memories for these two as they struggled to rebuild civilisation whilst studying at the University of Ulster in Coleraine.

The Morrow Project is on Kickstarter and has around 50 hours to go at this stage.  This will be the 4th edition of the system and looks to be the best one yet.  But will you  be Morrow Project ready?

Now you can go Beyond the Gates of Antares

Well the latest Kickstarter tabletop project for 2013 is from Dark Space Corp and went live at the very start of Tuesday 1 January 2013 with Beyond the Gates of Antares.

We don't know why we are excited about this, maybe because it involves Rick Priestly and John Stallard.
