TitanCon is back for 2012

Titancon, a Science Fiction Literary and Media Convention, is returning to Northern Ireland this September. Once again the convention has received support from the National Lottery funds though the Arts Council of Northern Ireland.
With the continuing success of 'Game of Thrones', TitanCon is returning to Belfast on the 22nd September 2012 at the Europa Exhibition Centre. TitanCon promises to be the biggest Science Fiction and Fantasy literary, media and gaming convention in Belfast. The main focus of TitanCon is 'Game of Thrones', as there will be panels on the HBO series (filmed in Northern Ireland) and on the original George RR Martin books that started it all.

The convention will allow fans to meet some of the cast and crew of the HBO hit. Actors Miltos Yerolemou, Kristian Nairn and Ron Donachie who play Syrio Forel, Hodor and Rodrik Cassel respectively on the show. One of the storyboard artists, William Simpson, will also be in attendance on the day. Miltos will be holding a workshop on sword fighting.

In addition to the 'Game of Thrones' stars, several authors will also be there, including Peadar O Guilin, Ian MacDonald and Ken Magee

On top of that there will be gaming events including Tabletop gaming and Role-Playing Games that will be run by Table Top North.

A coach tour has been organised for the Sunday that will allow fans to visit the locations used during the filming of 'Game of Thrones', locations such as Ballintoy Harbour and Shane's Castle. There will be a live combat demonstration by Clan Ulaidh and a Medieval feast to enjoy.

The tickets for the bus tour sold out in just over two weeks and with 160 people going, this should be a great party.

TitanCon is on Saturday 22 September and the Bus Tour is on Sunday 23 September.
